Leadership Isn’t About What You Intend To Do

The distance between your intentions and your actions is the distance between trust and betrayal.

Most people have good intentions.

You can intend to listen.
You can intend to prioritize people.
You can intend to do the right thing.

👉 But leadership isn’t about what you intend to do. It’s about what you actually do.

In 2022, Southwest Airlines stranded over two million passengers during the Christmas holidays when its computer systems crashed.

Southwest’s leadership team promised to make significant investments to upgrade its infrastructure.

However, in 2024, during another substantial travel disruption, it came to light that Southwest hadn’t followed through on its commitments.

Trust is built or broken in the quiet moments when no one’s watching.

đź’ˇ Plans are easy. Promises are easy. Follow-through is what separates leaders from pretenders.

How are you going to turn your intentions into actions?
